No matter what the breed, it is in a dog’s nature to pursue moving objects. Whether cars, people or other animals, you dog will be tempted give chase. You can end up with a not so happy ending if a chase occurs and ends badly. While you may not be able to take the instinct out of the dog, there are thing you can do to keep your pet safer. Try to keep the chase under control in order to be successful. Before a puppy runs to a chase, he may stop and look at you first, if you have worked with him and taught him to stop this behavior.
Leaping and Jumping
Greeting their mothers is commonly achieved by a puppy jumping up to her. Greeting people may also entail jumping up into their laps or otherwise as the puppy changes and alters its behavior. Dominant behavior may also be exhibited by the puppy jumping up once it becomes a grown dog. Jumping can be troublesome and dangerous behavior. You may not succeed at first when training your dog not to jump, so keep trying. Some methods are better than others, as grabbing at a dog’s paws or pushing them down may backfire and cause bad behavior. In general, to acknowledge your dog’s behavior in any way is seen by the animal as a reward so you may be reinforcing the unwanted behavior without knowing it. Turning your back on the dog and ignoring him is the best approach. It is better not to touch your puppy, speak or make eye contact in order to control behavior. Continue your current activity when the puppy is seeking your attention by jumping. Only return your attention to the dog when he has calmed down. Your dog will figure out the correct behavior very quickly.
Dogs that Bite
In born problem behavior by your dog can be seen in dog bites that may be attributed to instinct. Biting is one way that your puppy will use to establish his place in the pack and to explore the world around them. Unacceptable and possibly problem behavior such as mouthing and biting must be discouraged by the puppy’s owner.
Many people believe that biting is dependent on the breed of dog you are dealing with but this isn’t necessarily true. If your dog has been bred correctly and then trained in the right way, the tendency of an issue with biting with your dog will decrease. 10. Aggressive Dogs
A dog signaling aggression will snarl, show his teeth or growl. If he is feeling particularly threatened, he may also lunge and bite. A dog has the potential to become aggressive regardless of breed, past history, training or age. Other dogs and people could be the target of mean behavior that may be shown by an animal that has been bread with other animals with violent and documented histories of aggressiveness. Any dog can become aggressive in a particular circumstance but it is a larger problem is the dog behaves aggressively in general. Health difficulties may be the cause of mean behavior in you puppy, so see your vet first before jumping to conclusions about aggressive activities. A good animal trainer could be the right answer for the bad behavior that your dog exhibits. If you have an aggressive dog, your main concern should be keeping yourself and others safe.
